JAKARTA, Jakartaweekly.com – PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Daerah Operasi 1 Jakarta has added additional train services on the Gambir–Yogyakarta route for the period of April 17–30, 2026. The measure is intended to help accommodate strong travel demand from Jakarta to various cities across Java, as well as support passengers adopting flexible working arrangements.

KAI Daop 1 Jakarta Public Relations Manager, Franoto Wibowo, said the additional services form part of the company’s strategy to deliver transportation that is adaptive and responsive to customer needs.

“This measure is intended to provide greater flexibility for customers in planning their journeys,” Franoto said on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.

Under this arrangement, passengers can choose between two executive-class schedules on the Gambir–Yogyakarta route, with departures available in the morning and evening.

The morning service departs at 05:15 WIB and arrives in Yogyakarta at 13:11 WIB, while the evening service departs at 17:15 WIB and arrives at 00:43 WIB.

He added that ticket prices start from Rp590,000 on weekdays and Rp640,000 on weekends.

Franoto noted that the service enhancement is expected to encourage more people to shift to rail transport, which offers safety, comfort, punctuality, and freedom from traffic congestion.

“We remain committed to providing reliable transportation services with a range of schedule options and competitive fares. This will make it easier for people to travel, whether for business, tourism, or visiting family,” he added.

He also advised the public to purchase tickets through official channels to ensure secure and convenient transactions.

Information on schedules and ticket bookings can be accessed through the Access by KAI application, the official KAI website, as well as other authorized sales partners.
