IIMS 2027 Launches with Larger Venue, New Test Drive Route and Medan Expansion

JAKARTA — Jakartaweekly.com. Dyandra Promosindo has officially launched preparations for the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2027, signaling a renewed commitment to supporting the country’s automotive industry through a larger exhibition, expanded business opportunities, and broader regional outreach.

The annual automotive exhibition will take place at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, from May 6–16, 2027.

Speaking at the launch event in Jakarta, Daswar Marpaung, President Director of Dyandra Promosindo, said IIMS 2027 is being organized with a spirit of optimism despite ongoing global economic uncertainties.

“The automotive industry has always proven resilient. Challenges have shaped its strength, and collaboration will help the industry grow even further,” Daswar said. “We hope IIMS 2027 becomes a platform where all stakeholders can work together to drive the industry’s next phase of growth.”

Bigger Exhibition, Better Visitor Experience

According to Michael Bayu Sumarijanto, Project Director of IIMS 2027, the exhibition is designed not only as a consumer event but also as a strategic business platform where manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, and industry partners can build new partnerships and explore business opportunities.

To accommodate growing demand, IIMS 2027 will expand its exhibition space to 158,339 square meters, utilizing newly developed exhibition halls at JIExpo Kemayoran.

The larger venue will provide more room for automotive brands to showcase their latest products while creating a more engaging experience for visitors.

Dyandra also plans to enhance visitor facilities, improve exhibition programs, and introduce new features designed to deliver greater value for exhibitors and attendees alike.

Electric Vehicles and Luxury Brands

IIMS 2027 will continue supporting Indonesia’s automotive transition by featuring the latest electric vehicles (EVs) from global and domestic manufacturers.

Beyond passenger vehicles, the exhibition will also include automotive accessories, aftermarket products, components, and supporting industries, reinforcing its position as one of Southeast Asia’s most comprehensive automotive exhibitions.

A dedicated New Hall at JIExpo Kemayoran will showcase passenger vehicle brands, aftermarket exhibitors, and PAHAMI Village on the ground floor, while the second floor will feature luxury automotive brands and premium lifestyle products.

The new exhibition area will also incorporate AI-powered digital signage, live exhibition cameras, interactive navigation systems, and large-scale installations to improve visitor engagement.

Expanded Test Drive Experience

Responding to strong visitor interest in test-driving new vehicle models, Dyandra will introduce a significantly larger test drive route for IIMS 2027.

Unlike previous editions, the route will extend beyond the JIExpo exhibition grounds, allowing visitors to experience vehicles on public roads. The course will exit through Gate H before looping back via Gate 4, providing a more realistic driving experience.

IIMS Series Adds Medan

Dyandra also announced the expansion of its nationwide IIMS Series, bringing the automotive exhibition to more cities across Indonesia throughout 2027.

The schedule includes:

  • IIMS Surabaya: June 1–6, 2027
  • IIMS Balikpapan: October 2027
  • IIMS Manado: November 2027
  • IIMS Medan: New destination for 2027

According to Rudi MF, Project Manager of IIMS, the regional exhibitions are designed to meet growing demand outside Jakarta while supporting more balanced economic development across Indonesia.

“IIMS Series allows automotive companies to introduce their latest products to consumers across the country,” Rudi said. “Today, IIMS has evolved beyond an exhibition—it has become a comprehensive automotive lifestyle and entertainment platform that educates, inspires, and connects communities.”

With a larger exhibition footprint, expanded regional presence, enhanced visitor experiences, and stronger industry collaboration, Dyandra aims for IIMS 2027 to play an even greater role in supporting Indonesia’s automotive sector and accelerating its future growth.
