JAKARTA, Jakartaweekly.com – PT KAI Logistik recorded an impressive performance through its flagship retail service, KALOG Express. Throughout the first quarter of 2026, the company successfully distributed approximately 820.000 shipments across various regions in Indonesia, marking a 16% increase compared to the same period last year.

KAI Logistik’s Manager of Marketing & Sales Courier, Ayi Suryandi, stated that one of the main drivers of growth in the first quarter of this year was the motorcycle delivery service, which recorded 34.652 units, growing by around 23% year-on-year.

He noted that this increase aligns with the high level of public mobility, particularly ahead of the recent Idulfitri holiday period.

“We see that the public’s enthusiasm for using motorcycle delivery services via railway reflects a growing awareness of the importance of road safety, while also serving as a safer and more comfortable travel alternative,” he said in a press statement on Thursday, April 16, 2026.

He added that the growth in shipments was not only seen in quantity. Freight volume increased by 27% compared to the same period in 2025, rising from 14.649 tons to 18.671 tons.

Ayi believes that the company’s performance in the first quarter of 2026 sends a strong signal of increasing customer trust in railway-based logistics services that prioritize safety, timeliness, and efficiency.

“This achievement reflects how strengthening the service ecosystem, both through digitalization and network expansion, has delivered greater convenience for customers,” he said.

He emphasized that the company will continue to maintain consistency in service quality to ensure every delivery process runs optimally.

He further explained that the increase in freight transportation during the first quarter of this year also contributed to improved road safety. Based on data from the Indonesian National Police (Polri), the number of traffic accidents during the 2026 Eid transportation period was recorded at 3.517 incidents, a 6,31% decrease compared to 2025.

“This decline also reflects the positive impact of changing mobility patterns that increasingly prioritize safety,” he said.

He added that the company will continue to reinforce its commitment to delivering reliable and integrated logistics services. Not only focusing on business growth, the company also seeks to provide added value through tangible contributions to the safety and comfort of mobility for the Indonesian public at large.
