JAKARTA, Jakartaweekly.com — Global IT services provider NTT DATA has announced a strategic partnership with AI coding platform Cursor to accelerate enterprise software modernization while strengthening governance and security for artificial intelligence adoption.
The collaboration marks another step in NTT DATA’s transformation into an AI-native services company, enabling the company to integrate advanced AI agents into its global software engineering and delivery operations.
Under the partnership, NTT DATA will use Cursor’s AI-powered coding platform to help design, build, and modernize enterprise systems more efficiently while ensuring compliance with enterprise governance standards.
According to Abhijit Dubey, CEO and Chief AI Officer of NTT DATA, Inc., enterprise modernization today is about more than migrating applications to the cloud.
“Enterprise modernization is no longer just about moving systems to the cloud—it is about reimagining how software is built and operated in the age of AI,” Dubey said.
He said embedding AI directly into the company’s engineering and delivery model will enable NTT DATA to modernize systems faster, improve consistency across projects, and deliver greater value to clients.
By implementing the technology internally first, NTT DATA aims to help enterprises adopt AI with stronger governance, greater confidence, and measurable business outcomes.
The partnership places Cursor’s AI agents directly inside developers’ workflows, allowing software engineers to write, review, refactor, and modernize code using AI with full awareness of the entire codebase.
Rather than treating AI as a standalone tool, NTT DATA is integrating it into its engineering processes to ensure software modernization aligns with enterprise-wide AI strategies.

Cursor Enterprise provides organization-wide privacy protection, Single Sign-On (SSO), centralized administration, granular AI agent controls, and audit-ready policy enforcement, allowing companies to adopt AI while maintaining security, compliance, and operational control.
