JAKARTA, Jakartaweekly.com— Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency Teuku Riefky Harsya is encouraging the potential of the creative economy in regions across Indonesia to be developed into a new economic force to support the national economic growth target of 6 percent in 2027.

“Rindekraf provides clear direction for developing the creative economy as a new engine of national economic growth. We are encouraging creativity, intellectual property, talent, and regional potential to be developed into productive economic activities, so that the benefits can be felt by communities from villages to global markets,” said Teuku Riefky recently.

The Indonesian government has set a target of 6 percent economic growth in 2027, while maintaining inflation at around 2.5 percent. In this context, Teuku Riefky said the creative economy can contribute through value creation, job creation, and the development of region-based economic potential.

Strengthening the creative economy sector is supported by Presidential Regulation No. 37 of 2026 on the 2026–2045 Master Plan for the Creative Economy (Rindekraf). Rindekraf serves as a guideline for both central and regional governments in developing the creative economy sector and its ecosystem over the medium and long term.

According to Teuku Riefky, a development approach that starts at the regional level is important to ensure that local creativity, talent, and intellectual property do not remain untapped potential, but are instead developed into productive economic activities.

Implementation is being carried out through a number of programs of the Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency, including Creative Village Activation, which encourages villages and urban wards to become creative economy centers, as well as Creative Hub Activation, which provides spaces for talent development and creative entrepreneurship. The Ministry also promotes the Creative by Indonesia program to bring local intellectual property from the national level to global markets.

“The creative economy has significant potential to support the people-centered economy, create jobs, and increase value-added. Therefore, we will continue to ensure that creative economy programs are connected to national development priorities and can be implemented concretely in the regions,” said Teuku Riefky.

Through this approach, the creative economy is expected not only to serve as a supporting sector but also to become one of the new sources of economic growth by strengthening local potential, creating jobs, and increasing value-added all the way to global markets.
