JAKARTA, October 7, 2026 — INACRAFT October Vol. 5 2026 officially opened at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC) on Wednesday, bringing Indonesia’s craft industry into focus through this year’s theme, “Techno Craft.”
The fifth edition of the sister event of The Jakarta International Handicraft Trade Fair (INACRAFT) is organized by the Association of Indonesian Handicraft Exporters and Producers (ASEPHI) in collaboration with Mediatama Event. The five-day exhibition runs from October 7 to 11 and continues to feature Youthpreneurs as one of its main concepts.
The opening ceremony was attended by Selvi Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Arifatul Choiri Fauzi, Deputy Minister of Culture Giring Ganesha, Deputy Minister of Cooperatives Farida Farichah, Seruni of the Red and White Cabinet, BPP ASEPHI representatives and Minister of Trade Budi Santoso, who also delivered remarks at the opening.
The “Techno Craft” theme explores how Indonesia’s traditional craftsmanship can develop alongside technology and innovation.
Technology is presented not as a replacement for handcrafting skills and local knowledge, but as a tool to strengthen the value, quality, functionality and appeal of Indonesian craft products.
The concept brings together local wisdom, artisan skills, design, technology and innovation, with the aim of producing works that respond to contemporary needs while retaining their cultural identity.
The exhibition is organized into nine zoning areas across JICC, allowing visitors to navigate different categories of products.
The Main Lobby features home living, gift items, shoes, bags, aromatherapy and an international pavilion. Cendrawasih Hall focuses on batik, woven textiles, embroidery and ecoprint, while the Assembly Hall combines these categories with fashion, fragrance, personal care and government, state-owned enterprise and international participants.
Hall A includes jewelry, accessories and the Youthpreneurs area, while Hall B features fashion and the Talam INACRAFT food and beverage section. Additional zones include the Promenade, Hall A Lobby, Hall B Lobby and Mezzanine.
Youthpreneurs remains a central part of the exhibition, giving younger entrepreneurs an opportunity to introduce their products and connect with the wider craft ecosystem.
This year, 19 Youthpreneurs are participating, with their products also expected to be introduced to potential international buyers attending the exhibition.
INACRAFT October is targeting 80,000 visitors, 120 potential international buyers, Rp100 billion in retail transactions and US$2.7 million in trade contracts.
The organizers are also facilitating B2B networking involving 30 curated Youthpreneurs, creating opportunities for young businesses to build connections with potential partners and buyers.
Beyond the exhibition booths, ASEPHI is presenting a series of programs throughout the event, including Craft Talks & Workshops, Cultural Performances, Digital Lounge sessions and Craft Experience Spots.
An ASEAN Business Forum will discuss “Scaling Up ASEAN Gifts & Crafts: Sustainability and Market Access,” bringing together representatives from the Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Finance and Customs, the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), the National Movement for Competent Indonesia (GNIK), the ASEAN Gifts & Crafts Federation and young artisans.
Sustainability is also part of the program through the ASEPHI Go Green Activity, held in collaboration with Waste Hub Management.
ASEPHI is also collaborating with the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection to reintroduce traditional Indonesian children’s games, while the Ministry of Law, through its Directorate General of Intellectual Property and Directorate General of General Legal Administration, will support awareness around trademarks and geographical indications.
The organizers have also scheduled memorandum of understanding signings with BRIN, GNIK, Bank Indonesia’s Tegal Representative Office and Universitas Indonesia.
