Indonesian Parliament Commends Police Efforts in Combating Online Gambling
Member of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR), Endang Agustina, has commended the performance of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) in cracking down on online gambling. Polri has successfully shaken off its image as an institution reluctant to tackle online gambling.
“We have successfully removed this label, addressing public doubts about Polri’s commitment to combating online gambling,” said Endang during a Working Meeting with the Chief of Police and regional police heads at the Nusantara II Building, Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday (11/11/2024).
The PAN (National Mandate Party) politician expressed hope that Polri would continue to eradicate online gambling thoroughly. She awaits further investigation results from Polri regarding online gambling activities.

“The public is watching Polri’s efforts in fighting online gambling. The public will continuously support Polri’s commitment to eradicating online gambling but may stand against it if Polri fails to commit,” she added.
Meanwhile, Chief of Police Listyo Sigit Prabowo affirmed his resolve to combat online gambling, pledging to step down if found involved in such activities.
“I have made it clear, Sir, that we won’t hesitate to eradicate it from the very top. In fact, if it is found that I am involved in online gambling, I will resign tomorrow morning,” he stated firmly.
