KAI Logistik Ensures Cargo Distribution Remains Optimal During Ascension Day Long Weekend

JAKARTA, Jakartaweekly.com – PT Kereta Api Logistik (KAI Logistik), a subsidiary of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), has ensured that all freight transportation services will continue operating optimally during the Ascension Day long weekend and collective leave period from May 14 to 17, 2026.

KAI Logistik Operations Director Broer Rizal said the company remains committed to maintaining uninterrupted national logistics distribution amid increased public mobility during the holiday period.

“We understand that smooth logistics distribution is key to economic stability, especially during periods of heightened public activity. KAI Logistik is here to ensure that goods supply remains secure and arrives on time,” Broer said in a statement received by Jakartaweekly.com on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.

To support seamless distribution, KAI Logistik has strengthened the capacity and reliability of its freight transportation services across various business segments, including container transportation services, which serve as one of the backbones of national logistics distribution.

Through its container freight services, the company is ensuring optimal goods distribution by expanding service coverage and transportation types, ranging from general cargo to reefer containers.

During the long holiday period, KAI Logistik projects it will be able to accommodate container freight distribution demand of around 16,000 tons per day for various industrial sectors, including Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and manufacturing.

The company said its integrated multimodal services connecting industrial areas in Jakarta and Karawang with industrial hubs in Semarang and the strategic area of Surabaya have become one of its main strengths in maintaining uninterrupted national distribution.

Meanwhile, KALOG Pro’s coal transportation services are also guaranteed to continue operating normally every day during the holiday period to support national energy security.

KAI Logistik estimates coal distribution through the service will reach around 38,000 tons per day to maintain energy raw material supplies for power plants and industrial sectors.

In addition to large-scale services, the company will also continue operating retail delivery services during the holiday period. Broer said freight wagons attached to the Blambangan Express and Sri Tanjung trains will remain in operation to maintain distribution reach.

KAI Logistik also ensured that its network of 290 service points across Sumatra, Java, and Bali will remain on standby to serve customers. Specifically during national holidays, KALOG Express operating hours will be adjusted to half-day operations while ensuring customer packages continue moving toward their destinations.

“KAI Logistik ensures that even during holiday periods, the flow of goods distribution must not stop in order to ensure the needs of the wider community continue to be met,” he said.
