JAKARTA – Jakartaweekly.com. Global IT services company NTT DATA has expanded its strategic partnership with Google Cloud to accelerate the adoption of enterprise artificial intelligence (AI), as businesses worldwide seek practical ways to move from experimentation to large-scale deployment.
The collaboration will focus on helping organizations implement agentic AI solutions powered by Gemini Enterprise, Google’s advanced AI platform, across business operations, customer service, software development, finance, procurement, and industry-specific workflows.
The initiative comes as enterprises increasingly invest in AI but continue to face challenges in scaling deployment across their organizations.
According to a recent NTT DATA survey, 99% of enterprises said AI is driving higher demand for cloud investment. However, 88% reported that current cloud investment levels could limit their ability to pursue AI, cloud-native, and digital modernization initiatives.
To address this gap, NTT DATA is establishing a dedicated global Gemini Enterprise practice and plans to certify 5,000 AI specialists worldwide. The company will also work with Google Cloud to develop up to 500 AI agents designed for both cross-industry and sector-specific applications.
“Enterprises need a practical way to scale AI adoption, strengthen governance, enable their workforce, and create measurable business value,” said Abhijit Dubey, CEO and Chief AI Officer of NTT DATA.
The partnership aims to combine Google Cloud’s AI infrastructure with NTT DATA’s consulting, implementation, and managed services capabilities to support enterprise-wide AI transformation.
Under the collaboration, the two companies will deploy teams of AI engineers and industry specialists to work directly with clients, helping accelerate solution development and reduce deployment timelines.
The initiative is expected to support AI applications across sectors including banking, insurance, manufacturing, and retail. Potential use cases range from improving customer experiences and automating business processes to accelerating cloud migration and software development.
Google Cloud President and Chief Revenue Officer Matt Renner said demand for AI agents capable of transforming core business operations continues to rise.
“We are seeing massive demand for AI agents that can fundamentally transform core business workflows,” Renner said. “By developing hundreds of agents and training thousands of experts, NTT DATA is ensuring our joint customers have the specialized resources required to deploy sophisticated AI solutions at a global scale.”
The expanded partnership also emphasizes governance, security, compliance, and sovereign AI deployment, allowing organizations to meet regulatory and data residency requirements while implementing AI solutions.
Industry analysts have increasingly noted that while many companies have successfully tested AI through pilot programs, relatively few have been able to integrate the technology across their operations in a way that delivers measurable business outcomes. The NTT DATA-Google Cloud collaboration seeks to address this challenge by providing enterprises with both the technological infrastructure and operational expertise needed to scale AI adoption.
As competition intensifies in the global AI market, partnerships between cloud providers and technology services firms are expected to play a growing role in helping businesses translate AI investments into productivity gains and long-term growth.
