JAKARTA, JakartaWeekly.com — NTT DATA officially opened its Jakarta 2 Annex Data Center (JKT2A) in Jakarta on Tuesday (Nov. 3, 2026). The new facility has an information technology (IT) capacity of 12 megawatts (MW) to support growing demand for cloud services, artificial intelligence (AI), and digital transformation.

JKT2A is a next-generation, AI-ready data center designed to support hyperscale, enterprise, and high-density computing workloads. The facility features advanced cooling technology, integrated power infrastructure, and carrier-neutral connectivity.

Located within NTT Global Data Centers’ campus in Jakarta, the facility expands the existing JKT2 ecosystem, which has established itself as one of Jakarta’s carrier-neutral connectivity hubs.

According to NTT DATA, JKT2 hosts more than 240 network service providers, the Jakarta Internet Exchange (JKT-IX), major cloud service providers, and strategic submarine cable connections.

Through direct campus interconnection with JKT2, JKT2A customers can expand their digital infrastructure while maintaining connectivity with their existing networks, partners, and cloud environments.

Alongside the opening of JKT2A, NTT DATA also launched APN Connect, Indonesia’s first connectivity service powered by All-Photonics Network (APN) technology based on the Innovative Optical and Wireless Network (IOWN®).

APN Connect provides high-capacity, low-latency Layer 1 connectivity between JKT2/JKT2A and JKT3, which are approximately 35 kilometers apart.

The service enables real-time data synchronization between data center facilities in different geographic locations. Its applications include disaster recovery, data replication, and multi-data center operations.

Yasuhiro Kajiki, Managing Director for Japan and APAC at NTT Global Data Centers, said the opening of JKT2A marked an important milestone for the company’s business in Indonesia and, more importantly, for the clients it serves in the country.

“By expanding capacity and connecting our facilities through APN Connect, we are building a more integrated and resilient data center platform, giving clients greater flexibility as their infrastructure needs evolve,” Kajiki said.

He added that the company was proud to continue investing in support of Indonesia’s digital future.

Meanwhile, Doug Adams, CEO and President of NTT Global Data Centers, said Indonesia was one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic digital economies, with significant demand for digital infrastructure capable of accommodating growing capacity requirements and providing extensive connectivity.

“The opening of JKT2A reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting clients’ cloud, AI, and digital transformation initiatives through resilient, high-performance infrastructure,” Adams said.

He added that JKT2A, together with APN Connect, further strengthens the company’s ability to provide the capacity, connectivity, and reliability organizations need.

In terms of infrastructure, JKT2A has an IT load capacity of 12 MW, supported by dual power substations. The facility also features a 2N Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) architecture and N+1 backup generators.

Its cooling systems comprise N+1 air-cooled chillers and an N+2 Computer Room Air Handler (CRAH) configuration.

JKT2A also offers carrier-neutral and cloud-neutral connectivity, providing access to various leading cloud platforms as well as domestic and international network providers.

The facility is designed to meet Tier III certification standards and is equipped with 24/7 security operations and multilayered physical security controls.

NTT DATA said JKT2A is part of its global data center platform. The facility expands the company’s ability to deliver scalable, interconnected infrastructure across key Asia-Pacific markets.
