TANGERANG – A Director from PT Bank Central Asia (BCA) delivered a guest lecture at Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) on Friday, urging students to view failure as a vital stepping stone for career development.
The event, part of the “BCA Berbagi Ilmu” (BBI) initiative, brought BCA Director Hendra Tanumihardja before an audience of over 500 students from various majors.
The lecture, titled “The Art of Falling: Ukemi as a Lesson for Life and Career,” centered on the martial arts concept of Ukemi—a technique of absorbing an attack and falling correctly to avoid injury.
Tanumihardja encouraged the students to adopt this philosophy. “In the journey to success, failure is an inseparable part of the process,” he stated. He positioned this mindset as crucial for navigating a competitive job market shaped by digitalization and economic dynamics.
He also explained that this philosophy guides BCA as an institution, helping it remain “resilient in the face of various challenges, competition, and economic conditions”.
Through the BBI program, BCA aims to equip the younger generation with relevant soft skills, supporting the “Indonesia Emas 2045” vision. The stop at UMN marked the seventh BBI event of 2025, a series that has reached more than 4,350 students nationwide.
The BBI initiative is one of several programs under the Bakti BCA umbrella, which also includes “Genera-Z Berbakti” , a program that engages students in community service.
