TANGERANG, Jakartaweekly.com — Changan Indonesia has expanded its electric vehicle portfolio in the domestic market by launching the compact electric SUV Nevo Q05 at GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026. The new model marks the company’s next step following the introduction of its Deepal sub-brand in Indonesia.

Changan Indonesia CEO Setiawan Surya said Nevo is the company’s new energy vehicle (NEV) sub-brand, designed to meet the needs of younger consumers by emphasizing technology and driving convenience.

“Every vehicle we introduce reflects one simple belief: technology should make life easier and more enjoyable. After bringing the Deepal sub-brand to Indonesia, we are now proud to introduce Nevo, a sub-brand under the Changan umbrella designed to meet the needs of an active, modern, and dynamic younger generation,” Setiawan said in Tangerang recently.

He added that Changan is offering the Nevo Q05 at a special launch price of Rp309 million for the Pro variant and Rp359 million for the Max variant. The promotional prices are available during GIIAS 2026 for the first 1,000 customers.

Setiawan said the Nevo Q05 is designed for both daily commuting and long-distance travel. The electric SUV offers a driving range of up to 462 kilometers based on the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) standard.

To support everyday mobility, Changan equips the Nevo Q05 with DC fast charging technology capable of recharging the battery from 30% to 80% in approximately 15 minutes.

The vehicle also features Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, allowing the battery to serve as a power source for various electronic devices during outdoor activities.

In addition, the SUV comes with a remote control app, smartphone connectivity, voice control, and Intelligent Driving Assistance. On the safety front, the Nevo Q05 is equipped with 25 Intelligent Driving & Active Safety Assistance functions, a high-strength body structure, the Golden Shield Battery, and IP68-rated battery protection.

The Nevo Q05 offers a spacious cabin thanks to its 2,735-mm wheelbase. Its luggage compartment provides 540 liters of cargo capacity, expandable to 1,380 liters with the rear seats folded. Other features include a panoramic roof, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, and 27 storage compartments throughout the cabin.

At the same event, Changan Auto Southeast Asia Director of Sales Sebastien Li said the Nevo Q05 is part of the company’s strategy to make electric vehicles more practical and accessible to consumers.

“Through the combination of smart technology, premium comfort, efficient performance, and comprehensive safety features, the Changan Nevo Q05 represents Changan’s commitment to delivering smarter, more practical, and more relevant electrified mobility solutions for Indonesian consumers under the spirit of ‘Smart Drive, Easy Life’,” he said.

Before entering the Indonesian market, the Nevo Q05 had already posted strong sales in several countries. In China, the model recorded cumulative sales of 100,000 units within eight months of its launch and ranked as the best-selling compact SUV for three consecutive months.

In Thailand, meanwhile, the vehicle secured more than 5,000 orders within its first three months on the market.
