JAKARTA, Jakartaweekly.com—JAECOO Indonesia has partnered with 347 Homebreaks and the National Modificator & Aftermarket Association (NMAA) to showcase a personalized version of the JAECOO J5 EV. The collaboration highlights vehicle customization that goes beyond aesthetics by reinforcing the electric SUV’s original design identity while reflecting the owner’s lifestyle and personality.

Unveiled at the 2026 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), the project combines design, lifestyle, and functional modification. JAECOO positions the J5 EV as a platform for personalization without compromising its distinctive design language.

Dendy Darman, Founder of 347 Homebreaks, said vehicles are no longer chosen solely for their functionality, but also for their ability to represent the owner’s character and lifestyle. For that reason, the J5 EV customization was designed to preserve the vehicle’s original styling while adding subtle personal touches.

“We initially drew inspiration from surfing. The vehicle’s silhouette perfectly matches our style and aesthetic. It also suits our lifestyle—it’s designed for outdoor adventures while remaining practical for urban driving and remote destinations,” Dendy said recently.

According to him, the customization was intentionally kept understated rather than excessive, creating a natural look for owners who enjoy both city driving and weekend getaways. The approach also emphasizes the quality of JAECOO’s original equipment manufacturer (OEM) design.

Andre Mulyadi, Founder of NMAA and Director of Modification at the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) Central Board, said vehicle modification should always prioritize safety and functionality.

“A proper modification is one that remains safe for everyday use while allowing owners to personalize their vehicle according to their own style and identity,” Andre said.

He added that the JAECOO J5 EV already possesses a strong SUV character, requiring only carefully considered enhancements to reflect the owner’s personality without losing its original identity. The project also demonstrates the model’s flexibility in supporting a wide range of lifestyles, from daily urban commuting to outdoor activities.

JAECOO Indonesia Head of Marketing Mohamad Ilham Pratama said the collaboration reflects the company’s commitment to co-creation in product development.

“Co-creation is one of JAECOO’s core principles. We believe creativity thrives through collaboration. We wanted to bring these two creative forces together, with the JAECOO J5 serving as the blank canvas to inspire a fresh perspective and a new interpretation of the vehicle,” he said.

Through the collaboration, JAECOO aims to demonstrate that the J5 EV is more than just an electric SUV. It can also serve as a lifestyle platform that evolves with its owner’s personality, passions, and hobbies. Whether for everyday urban mobility or weekend activities such as cycling and surfing, the J5 EV is designed to adapt while preserving its signature design character.
