MEDAN, Jakartaweekly.com—PT Pelindo Multi Terminal recorded 10.85% growth in cargo throughput in the first half of 2026. The subsidiary of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero), which manages non-container terminals, handled total cargo throughput of 59.59 million tons/m³.
Pelindo Multi Terminal SVP of Corporate Secretariat Finan Syaifullah said the growth reflected the company’s improved operational performance in supporting national logistics and trade activities.
“This achievement reflects Pelindo Multi Terminal’s ongoing efforts to strengthen service quality, improve operational effectiveness, and provide increasingly reliable and competitive non-container terminal management,” Finan said in a written statement in August 2026.
The increase in cargo throughput was supported by several key commodity segments. General and Bag Cargo reached 14.56 million tons/m³, up 6.11% from 13.72 million tons/m³ in the same period in 2025.
Liquid Bulk cargo throughput reached 14.41 million tons, an increase of 7.97% from 13.34 million tons in the first half of 2025.
Dry Bulk recorded the highest growth at 14.74%, with throughput reaching 30.63 million tons, compared with 26.69 million tons in the same period last year.
Meanwhile, Gas cargo throughput reached 8.12 million MMBTU, up 4.49% from 7.77 million MMBTU in the first half of 2025.
Finan said the improved performance was supported by the company’s operational transformation, including the strengthening of business processes, human resources, technology, equipment and infrastructure.
The company has also strengthened the implementation of Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) standards to maintain the reliability of its terminal operations.
“Pelindo Multi Terminal remains committed to maintaining the reliability of terminal operations through continuous innovation and transformation. With increasingly effective and integrated services, we hope to continue contributing to the smooth operation of the national logistics chain,” Finan said.
According to the company, the positive performance in the first half of 2026 is in line with Danantara Indonesia’s strategic agenda to strengthen service consistency and operational reliability across state-owned enterprises in support of logistics distribution and national trade activities.
As a non-container terminal operator, Pelindo Multi Terminal will continue to develop technology, improve productivity and strengthen Indonesia’s port ecosystem to provide modern, safe and competitive terminal services.
