Whitesky Targets More Than 70% of Indonesia’s eVTOL Market by 2036

HONGKONG, Jakartaweekly.com – Whitesky Aviation Group is preparing a roadmap for up to 200 electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft over the next decade as part of its strategy to develop the advanced air mobility (AAM) business in Indonesia and across the Asia-Pacific region.

Whitesky Group Founder and CEO Denon Prawiraatmadja said the company’s strategy goes beyond expanding its fleet, focusing instead on building an ecosystem that connects corporate demand, aircraft manufacturers, technology providers, infrastructure partners, and capital.

Whitesky projects that it could control more than 70% of Indonesia’s eVTOL aircraft market by 2036. The company expects its position in the domestic market to provide a foundation for expanding its partnerships and operations across the Asia-Pacific region.

“The objective is not simply to operate more aircraft. The objective is to build a business that becomes stronger every time the ecosystem grows,” Denon said in a written statement on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2026.

The strategy comes as Whitesky projects the potential eVTOL market in Indonesia at around US$6.2 billion over the next 20 years.

Denon said Indonesia would serve as an important base for Whitesky’s regional strategy. The company is exploring partnerships with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), technology providers, and infrastructure partners across the Asia-Pacific region.

Whitesky’s regional expansion efforts include engagement in Hong Kong, where Denon’s visit involved discussions on aviation, technology, business and investment to support the company’s next phase of growth.

According to Denon, Whitesky’s regional expansion is not simply about deploying eVTOL aircraft across multiple markets. The company aims to develop an operating model that connects technology, market demand, infrastructure, and capital.

“Manufacturers can build the technology. Operators have to turn that technology into a business. That is where we believe Whitesky can play a much larger regional role,” he said.

Whitesky is also relying on access to corporate travel demand across various industries in Indonesia. Potential eVTOL applications include airport connectivity, business travel, industrial operations, and tourism.

Access to these sources of demand could help Whitesky improve aircraft utilization as eVTOL technology moves toward commercial operations.

With plans for a fleet of up to 200 aircraft and a target of dominating the domestic market, Whitesky is positioning Indonesia as a launchpad for building a broader eVTOL business across the Asia-Pacific region.
