BOGOR, JakartaWeekly.com — PT Jakarana Tama, the maker of Gaga instant noodles, expects its new instant chicken noodle product to help expand its market reach and drive business growth.

The product is part of Gaga’s strategy to reach consumers beyond the spicy instant noodle segment, which has long been one of its signature offerings.

PT Jakarana Tama President Director Eka Hadi Djaja said the company was seeking to develop products that meet consumer needs. He noted that the instant noodle market was highly competitive, making product innovation one of the company’sbagus strategies for expanding its market reach.

“The instant noodle business is extremely competitive. There are two very large giants in this market, as you all know. It is not easy for us to succeed. That is why we need to look for highly innovative products,” he said in Bogor on Wednesday, October 28, 2026.

Gaga sees instant chicken noodles as an opportunity to tap into a broader market segment. The company has traditionally been known for its spicy instant noodle products, while chicken noodles are seen as a category with further growth potential in the instant noodle market.

To differentiate its product, Gaga uses an air-drying process rather than frying. Eka said the process, combined with the use of specially formulated flour, was designed to produce noodles with a texture similar to those served in restaurant-style chicken noodle dishes. The seasoning and broth are also provided separately.

In terms of pricing, Gaga’s instant chicken noodles sell for around Rp3,800 per pack in traditional markets. This is higher than the prices of several competing products, which sell for around Rp3,300 per pack.

Nevertheless, he believes the price difference will not be a problem. Eka said sales of the instant chicken noodle product had been increasing since its soft launch around June 2026.

However, he declined to disclose the company’s sales targets or revenue projections for the new product.

Meanwhile, PT Jakarana Tama Marketing and Sales Director Bagus Buntoro said the company introduced the instant chicken noodles at the Jakarta Fair (Pekan Raya Jakarta/PRJ) in June 2026. Following the launch, the company continued to expand the product’s distribution.

According to Bagus, the product had reached around 25,000 retail outlets. Gaga is also gradually expanding distribution through supermarket and minimarket chains, including Alfamart and Indomaret.

In addition to strengthening its domestic market presence, Gaga is exploring opportunities to sell the product overseas.

Bagus said several countries had expressed interest, with Asia and Southeast Asia among the regions the company was targeting. Japan and Australia were also identified as potential markets.

However, the company has yet to disclose its export targets or the timeline for introducing the product in those markets.
