INACRAFT October 2026 Brings Tradition and Technology Together

JAKARTA — Jakartaweekly.com. Indonesia’s craft industry is bringing tradition and technology closer together at INACRAFT October Vol. 5 2026, which will take place from October 7 to 11 at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC).

The fifth edition of INACRAFT October is organized by the Association of Indonesian Handicraft Exporters and Producers (ASEPHI) in collaboration with Mediatama Event. This year’s exhibition carries the theme “Techno Craft,” highlighting how technology and innovation can support traditional craftsmanship without replacing the skills and cultural knowledge behind it.

The event is also bringing back its Youthpreneurs concept, providing a platform for younger entrepreneurs to showcase creative products and contribute to the regeneration of Indonesia’s craft industry.

Bringing Traditional Craft Into the Future

The “Techno Craft” concept is built around the intersection of local wisdom, artisan skills, design, technology and innovation.

Rather than positioning technology as a replacement for traditional craftsmanship, INACRAFT presents it as a tool to strengthen product value, quality, functionality and market appeal.

Through this approach, traditional crafts can adapt to changing consumer needs while maintaining their cultural identity. The organizers see the combination of craftsmanship and technology as an opportunity for Indonesian products to become more relevant to contemporary markets and compete internationally.

The exhibition will occupy five halls at JICC, with participants organized across nine zoning areas, including the Main Lobby, Cendrawasih Hall & Promenade, Assembly Hall, Hall A and Hall B, as well as Talam INACRAFT areas.

A total of 829 exhibition booths will participate. These include 713 individual or ASEPHI member participants, 85 participants from government agencies, 15 ministry and state-owned enterprise participants, as well as international participants.

The exhibition will also feature 18 islands occupied by state-owned enterprises and other organizations, alongside 69 non-member individual participants and 59 Talam participants.

A Platform for Young Entrepreneurs

Youthpreneurs remains one of the key elements of this year’s INACRAFT October.

A total of 19 young entrepreneurs will participate, with their products also included in the exhibition’s business and international buyer opportunities.

The organizers are targeting 80,000 visitors, 120 potential international buyers, Rp100 billion in retail transactions and US$2.7 million in trade contracts.

The potential buyers are expected to explore not only products from ASEPHI member exporters, but also products developed by participating Youthpreneurs.

The event will also host B2B networking involving 30 curated youthpreneurs, creating opportunities for young businesses to connect with potential partners and buyers.

From Business Networking to Sustainability

Beyond the exhibition floor, INACRAFT October will feature a series of programs designed to connect artisans, businesses, policymakers and visitors.

These include Craft Talks & Workshops, Cultural Performances, Digital Lounge sessions and Craft Experience Spots.

ASEPHI will also host an ASEAN Business Forum, themed “Scaling Up ASEAN Gifts & Crafts: Sustainability and Market Access.” The forum will bring together representatives from Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Finance and Customs, the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), the National Movement for Competent Indonesia (GNIK), the ASEAN Gifts & Crafts Federation and young artisans.

Sustainability is also part of the program through the ASEPHI Go Green Activity, developed with Waste Hub Management to address environmental concerns within the craft industry.

The organizers are also working with the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection to reintroduce traditional Indonesian children’s games, while the Ministry of Law’s Directorate General of Intellectual Property and Directorate General of General Legal Administration will support outreach on trademarks and geographical indications.

Several memorandums of understanding are also scheduled with BRIN, GNIK, Bank Indonesia’s Tegal Representative Office and Universitas Indonesia.

Supporting MSMEs in the Digital Economy

Bank Mandiri is supporting INACRAFT October Vol. 5 2026 as the main sponsor, with a focus on supporting MSMEs and creative businesses in the digital economy.

Through Livin’ Merchant, participating businesses can accept payments, record sales, monitor inventory and manage sales proceeds. Exhibition participants can also access financing options including Kredit Usaha Rakyat, Kredit Usaha Mikro and SME loans, with financing limits of up to Rp50 billion.

The exhibition is additionally supported by TikTok Shop by Tokopedia, Pegadaian, Bukit Asam, BPDP, Filosofi Kopi and Pos Indonesia as Official Logistic Partner.

Other partners include Big Bird, Siloam Clinic, several hotel and mall partners, as well as digital, multimedia and technology partners.

A More Digital Exhibition Experience

This year’s exhibition will also introduce INACRAFT WAYFINDER, a web-based digital platform designed to help visitors navigate and explore different areas of the exhibition.

The platform is part of the organizers’ broader effort to make the exhibition more interactive and accessible, alongside the support of Official Digital Partner GoDigi.

INACRAFT October will be open to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. WIB, with admission priced at Rp35,000.

Visitors can register through the official INACRAFT website or purchase tickets directly at the venue. Bank Mandiri customers opening a NOW savings account or applying for a Mandiri credit card can also receive admission tickets as a reward.

With its combination of traditional craftsmanship, young entrepreneurs, technology and international business networking, INACRAFT October Vol. 5 2026 positions the craft sector as part of Indonesia’s broader creative economy and its efforts to reach global markets.
