Jakarta Fair 2026 Targets Rp8 Trillion in Transactions, 6 Million Visitors

JAKARTA — Jakartaweekly.com. Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung officially opened Jakarta Fair Kemayoran 2026 at the JIExpo Kemayoran complex in Central Jakarta on Thursday, setting an ambitious target of more than Rp8 trillion (approximately US$490 million) in transactions during the month-long event.

The annual exhibition, held as part of celebrations marking Jakarta’s 499th anniversary, serves as one of the city’s largest trade promotion and entertainment platforms while supporting local economic growth.

In his opening remarks, Pramono described Jakarta Fair as one of the city’s most iconic traditions and noted that next year’s event would carry even greater significance as Jakarta prepares to celebrate its 500th anniversary in 2027.

“Jakarta Fair Kemayoran is one of the icons of Jakarta’s anniversary celebrations. Next year, Jakarta will mark its 500th anniversary, a very special milestone that deserves thorough preparation,” Pramono said.

The governor expressed hopes that the event would continue to grow in both visitor numbers and transaction value.

“I hope next year’s fair will be even bigger, attract more visitors, and generate more than Rp9 trillion in transactions for MSMEs. If we can achieve Rp8 trillion this year, that would already be a remarkable accomplishment,” he added.

According to Pramono, Jakarta Fair has evolved beyond a public entertainment event and now serves as a strategic platform for driving regional economic activity.

Last year, the fair attracted nearly 5.9 million visitors and recorded Rp7.3 trillion in transactions.

“We hope the number of visitors can surpass six million this year and that transaction values exceed Rp8 trillion,” he said.

Meanwhile, Siti Hartati Murdaya, President Director of PT Jakarta International Expo and Chairperson of the Jakarta Fair Kemayoran 2026 Organizing Committee, said the exhibition will run from June 11 to July 12, 2026.

The event, recognized as Southeast Asia’s largest multi-product exhibition, features a wide range of products and entertainment offerings.

“This year, 2,800 companies are participating through 1,800 exhibition booths. Participants include MSMEs, national corporations, and international companies,” she said.

Visitors can also enjoy a variety of attractions, including concerts featuring around 150 Indonesian bands, carnival parades, the Miss Jakarta Fair competition, children’s amusement rides, a culinary festival showcasing Indonesian cuisine, and fireworks displays.

Carrying the theme “Jakarta Fair as a Platform for Multi-Product Exhibitions, Entertainment, and Business Networking to Drive Trade and Investment from MSMEs to National and International Industries,” the event aims to foster collaboration among businesses, investors, creative industries, and the public.

Organizers hope the exhibition will further strengthen Jakarta’s role as Indonesia’s economic and commercial hub while supporting its ambition to become a leading destination for international events ahead of the capital’s 500th anniversary celebrations in 2027.
