Indonesia Urged to Step Up Crackdown on Tobacco Promotion in Digital Spaces
Indonesia's Free Net From Tobacco coalition has urged the government to consistently enforce its online tobacco advertising ban after more than 140 reported tobacco promotion posts on social media were reviewed, with over 60 percent already removed. Health advocates warn that stronger enforcement is needed to protect children and teenagers from increasingly sophisticated digital marketing.
