JAKARTA, Jakartaweekly.com – Xiaomi Indonesia has introduced the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 6 and Xiaomi Electric Scooter 6 Lite as smart mobility solutions amid increasingly challenging urban congestion. The exclusive pre-sale period will end on April 20, 2026.
Andi Renreng, Marketing Director of Xiaomi Indonesia, said that the launch of the electric scooter lineup reflects Xiaomi’s commitment to improving people’s quality of life through practical and efficient transportation technology.
“The Xiaomi Electric Scooter 6 Series is part of our commitment to delivering a better life through integrated technological innovation,” he said in a press release on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
He explained that the company launched these electric scooters after identifying a significant gap in short-distance mobility in Indonesia. Through this initiative, the management aims to ensure that people are no longer burdened by traffic congestion and can instead enjoy their journeys as part of a modern and efficient lifestyle.
He added that the urgency for micro-mobility vehicles—such as electric scooters—is becoming more apparent, citing TomTom Traffic data showing that the average vehicle speed in Jakarta during evening rush hour is only 15,5 km/h.
This condition causes commuters to lose up to 125 hours per year, or the equivalent of more than five full days, just sitting in traffic.
He claimed that the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 6 Series offers better speed than walking and far greater practicality than motor vehicles, especially when used for commuting or combined with public transportation such as buses and trains.
The electric scooter is powered by a 400W motor capable of reaching peak power of up to 800W, allowing users to tackle steep inclines of up to an 18% gradient—such as office building parking ramps or uneven urban roads—without concern.
In addition, the use of 12-inch tubeless tires combined with a Dual-Spring Suspension system effectively absorbs shocks when passing over potholes or paving blocks, ensuring comfort even during relatively long rides.
With a 360Wh battery capacity that supports a range of up to 45 km on a single charge, along with EN17128-certified safety features and IPX5 water resistance, the scooter serves as a reliable partner for safe daily mobility in various weather conditions.
Meanwhile, the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 6 Lite, he said, offers added practicality for commuters through its portable design. The scooter is easy to fold, making it convenient for users to carry the 18 kg unit into MRT or LRT carriages, as well as to store it in luggage compartments or under office desks.
Despite its more compact design, the Lite variant still delivers advanced features through the Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS). This technology works by recovering kinetic energy during braking and converting it back into battery power, meaning that every stop in traffic helps extend the travel range.
He added that the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 6 is priced at Rp8.399.000, while the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 6 Lite is offered at Rp6.699.000.
