Aspira Highlights Importance of Cabin Filters

TANGERANG, Jakartaweekly.com—Aspira is using the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026 to raise public awareness about the importance of cabin filters, a component that plays a key role in maintaining air quality inside vehicles.

Aspira Product Manager Bima Aryo Wicaksono said vehicle owners remain less aware of the importance of cabin filters than other components, such as oil filters and engine air filters.

“Most motorists are already aware of the need to replace the oil filter during routine servicing, but the cabin filter is still often overlooked. In fact, it is an important component because it filters the air before it reaches the evaporator, allowing cleaner air to circulate inside the cabin,” Bima said in Tangerang on Friday, July 31, 2026.

According to him, cabin filters not only improve passenger comfort and health but also help extend the service life of a vehicle’s air conditioning (AC) components. A dirty cabin filter can restrict airflow, forcing the evaporator to work harder.

He said replacing an evaporator can cost several million rupiah. As a result, regular cabin filter maintenance is considered a simple way to reduce the risk of damage to the vehicle’s air conditioning system.

“With a clean cabin filter, air circulation improves and the lifespan of the AC components can also be extended,” he said.

Aspira claims its cabin filters meet Astra’s quality standards under the Astra Quality label. The products are designed to match manufacturers’ specifications, including the filter material, pleat design, and dimensions to ensure proper fitment.

Bima said Aspira cabin filters are available for most passenger vehicles sold in Indonesia, including models from Toyota, Daihatsu, Honda, Hyundai, as well as electric vehicles. One of the latest models supported is the BYD M6.

For maintenance, he recommended that vehicle owners inspect the cabin filter after approximately every 10,000 kilometers of driving. The filter should ideally be replaced every 20,000 kilometers, or about once a year, depending on driving conditions.

“If the vehicle is frequently driven on dusty roads or the driver often smokes inside the cabin, the cabin filter will generally wear out faster and should be replaced sooner,” he said.

According to Bima, cabin filters are relatively affordable, costing between Rp40,000 and Rp50,000. At that price, vehicle owners can enjoy cleaner cabin air while helping maintain the long-term performance of the vehicle’s air conditioning system.
