BSI Celebrates Ramadan by Providing Aid to 4.444 Orphaned and Impoverished Children

Ramadan is a special month for Muslims, filled with goodness and blessings that motivate everyone to compete in doing good. With this spirit, BSI and BSI Maslahat provided assistance to 4,444 orphaned and impoverished children as a form of care for others. The event, held on Friday, March 14, 2025, at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), was also attended by the Minister of Religious Affairs, Nasaruddin Umar.

The symbolic handover was conducted by Nasaruddin Umar as the Minister of Religious Affairs, Hery Gunardi as the President Director of BSI, Bob T Ananta as the Deputy President Director of BSI, Deputy Chief Commissioner of BSI Adiwarman Karim, and Hasanudin as the Chairman of the BSI Sharia Supervisory Board to representatives of the orphaned and impoverished children.

BSI President Director Hery Gunardi said that the assistance was given as a form of the company’s gratitude for last year’s solid performance and growth above the industry average, as well as in the momentum of Ramadan 1446 Hijri and the company’s fourth anniversary earlier this year.

The nominal assistance provided in 2025 increased by 28.6% from the previous year, from Rp3.5 billion to Rp4.5 billion. Of the 4,444 orphaned and impoverished children receiving assistance, 1,644 came from the Greater Jakarta area, while the rest, 2,800 orphans, were spread across 8 (eight) BSI working areas throughout Indonesia. On this occasion, BSI and BSI Maslahat provided assistance packages in the form of pocket money, food, and environmentally friendly merchandise.

“We are committed to providing optimal performance every year through agile operations and innovative services, so that the company’s zakat that we provide to the community is even greater. Alhamdulillah, one of them is distributed through orphan assistance, which continues to increase every year,” Hery emphasized.

On the occasion, Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar, in his speech, said he highly appreciated BSI’s move. Nasaruddin also congratulated the company on its 4th anniversary and BSI’s sustainable growth achievements.

“I congratulate you on your anniversary, birthday, or important day for BSI. Here are 4,444 orphans, I invite you to read Al-Fatihah, the mother of all letters and prayers. May BSI be blessed by Allah SWT,” said Nasaruddin, which was greeted with “aamiin” from the aid recipients present.

Through this activity, BSI Maslahat hopes to spread happiness and blessings of Ramadan to those in need, while inspiring the community to continue sharing and caring for others.
