BYD Seal Electric Car Catches Fire Near Indonesia’s Cikampek Toll Gate

JAKARTA, Jakartaweekly.com—A BYD Seal electric sedan was suspected to have caught fire on Friday morning after passing the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate on the Jakarta–Cikampek toll road in West Java, Indonesia. The incident drew attention from motorists as flames were seen engulfing a large portion of the vehicle.

Videos circulating on social media showed intense flames consuming the car while thick black smoke billowed into the sky. The fire appeared to spread from the middle section toward the rear of the vehicle.

Footage from the scene showed that the rear half of the sedan was severely damaged by the blaze. The front section, however, remained largely intact despite the intensity of the fire.
