Canon Launches EOS R6 V Video-First Full-Frame Camera in Indonesia

JAKARTA, Jakartaweekly.com — As content production becomes increasingly dynamic across multiple digital platforms, Canon has introduced the EOS R6 V in Indonesia, a new full-frame camera designed specifically for modern video creators.

Distributed exclusively by PT Datascrip, the EOS R6 V adopts a video-first concept, combining high-quality visuals, flexible workflows, and longer recording capabilities to meet the growing demands of professional and independent content creators.

The EOS R6 V is equipped with a 32.5-megapixel full-frame sensor capable of recording up to 7K Open Gate video. The feature allows creators to utilize the entire sensor area to produce a single footage file that can later be reframed into multiple formats, including horizontal videos for YouTube, vertical content for social media, and cinematic commercial formats without requiring additional shooting sessions.

The camera also includes 14 built-in color filters alongside Canon’s Log Profile and Picture Style features, enabling creators to achieve ready-to-use color tones directly from the camera while minimizing complex color grading during post-production.

For creators with existing editing preferences, the EOS R6 V supports custom LUT integration directly into the camera, helping streamline editing workflows and maintain consistent visual styles across productions.

“Today’s creators need cameras that not only deliver high-quality visuals, but can also keep up with increasingly fast and dynamic production workflows,” said Monica Aryasetiawan. “The EOS R6 V is designed to provide greater creative flexibility while supporting more comfortable and reliable video recording for various production needs.”

One of the EOS R6 V’s key features is its internal cooling fan, which improves stability during long recording sessions. Canon claims the camera can record 7K Open Gate MP4 videos up to three times longer than the EOS R6 Mark III, making it suitable for interviews, live events, video podcasts, and extended one-take productions.

Designed natively for vertical content creation, the EOS R6 V features a vertical tripod socket that allows direct vertical mounting without additional brackets. The user interface also automatically adjusts according to the camera orientation for easier operation.

The camera further includes customizable buttons that allow creators to tailor controls based on their shooting preferences. A front-facing record button supports self-shooting and solo productions, while remote operation is available through the Canon Camera Connect application.

To support handheld shooting, the EOS R6 V comes with In-Body Image Stabilization (IBIS) combined with digital stabilization to help deliver smoother footage during mobile or gimbal-assisted recording.

The camera is also compatible with Canon’s EOS VR System, providing creators with opportunities to explore immersive virtual reality video production as demand for immersive content continues to grow.

Despite its video-focused design, the EOS R6 V still offers professional-grade photography performance. Its 32.5-megapixel sensor delivers high-detail images with wide dynamic range, while continuous shooting speeds of up to 40 frames per second help capture fast-moving subjects accurately.

For professional workflows, the camera supports Canon Log 2, Canon Log 3, custom LUTs, waveform monitoring, and four-channel audio recording.

Alongside the camera, Canon also introduced the RF20-50mm f/4L IS USM PZ lens, designed as the EOS R6 V’s kit lens. The compact professional lens features a built-in power zoom system, marking the first time such functionality has appeared in Canon’s full-frame L-series lenses.

The lens offers a 20mm ultra-wide angle suitable for vlogging, interiors, and establishing shots, while the 50mm range provides comfortable framing for interviews and presentation-based content.

Its internal zoom design helps maintain balance during gimbal use, while the constant f/4 aperture ensures stable exposure throughout the zoom range. The lens is also built with dust and splash resistance for various shooting environments.

In Indonesia, PT Datascrip markets the EOS R6 V body only at Rp 38,999,000, while the camera bundled with the RF20-50mm f/4L IS USM PZ lens is priced at Rp 58,999,000. The RF20-50mm lens alone is available for Rp 25,999,000. All prices include 11% VAT.

Purchases come with a two-year official warranty from PT Datascrip and access to Canon Service Center support networks across Indonesia.
