PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk (Chandra Asri Group), a prominent energy, chemical, and infrastructure solutions provider in Southeast Asia, has established a Shared Services Center (SSC) to improve operational efficiency and foster sustainable growth across its subsidiaries. The initiative, managed by its subsidiary PT Chandra Asri Konsultasi (CAK), is set to create over 200 new jobs, contributing to the development of Indonesia’s workforce.
Operating since 2024, CAK provides centralized back-office services that include finance, human resources, procurement, customer operations, and information technology (IT). This new operating model is designed to efficiently manage operations from Indonesia, including for the group’s assets based in Singapore.
Currently, CAK handles the administrative functions for Aster Chemical & Energy Pte. Ltd. (Aster), a Singapore-based subsidiary of a joint venture between Chandra Asri Capital Pte. Ltd. and Glencore Asian Holdings Pte. Ltd. This structure allows Indonesian talent to play a greater role in supporting the company’s regional performance. The ultimate goal is for CAK to become the dedicated back-office service provider for all entities within the Chandra Asri Group.
Andre Khor, Chief Financial Officer of Chandra Asri Group, emphasized the strategic importance of this development. “Human capital development is a fundamental pillar of long-term growth,” Khor stated. “The establishment of CAK reflects our commitment to delivering efficient business services while also creating employment opportunities for local talent. This strategic initiative reinforces Chandra Asri Group’s role as a Growth Partner—not only focused on business expansion, but also on strengthening the capabilities of the local workforce as a key driver of national economic development”.
Looking ahead, CAK intends to expand its service offerings to external partners outside the Chandra Asri Group. To support this expansion and ensure its staff can meet evolving industry demands, the company will implement regular training programs and competency reviews.
