TANGERANG, Jakartaweekly.com — Chery Indonesia has expanded its electrified vehicle lineup by launching the Chery J6T CSH at the GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026. The latest addition to the J6 Series is part of the company’s strategy to attract consumers seeking the driving experience of an electric vehicle without concerns over limited driving range.

Budi Darmawan Jantania, Vice Director of Chery Business Unit Indonesia, said the introduction of the J6T CSH responds to growing consumer demand for electrified vehicles that remain practical and flexible for long-distance travel.

“We see increasing demand for vehicles that deliver the experience of electric driving while providing greater flexibility for long-distance journeys,” he said in Tangerang on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

He explained that one of the key upgrades in the J6T CSH is its Range-Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV) technology, which enables the vehicle to travel more than 1,000 kilometers by combining electric power with a gasoline engine.

The vehicle also features a Tank Turn Feature, allowing it to make tighter turns in confined spaces. Another notable feature is the 6 kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) system, which enables the vehicle to supply electricity to various electronic devices during outdoor activities.

Meanwhile, the 21-inch wheels further emphasize the J6T CSH’s rugged yet modern character.

Despite these enhancements, the J6T CSH retains the signature boxy adventure SUV design of the J6 Series. It offers 220 mm of ground clearance and can wade through water up to 650 mm deep, making it suitable for both daily commuting and off-road adventures.

The vehicle also features an aluminum body structure, which Chery claims is lightweight, durable, and corrosion-resistant. For improved stability, it is equipped with an aluminum H-arm suspension system.

In terms of safety and technology, the J6T CSH comes with 15 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) features and six airbags to provide comprehensive protection throughout the journey.

Inside the cabin, a 15.6-inch touchscreen serves as the central control hub for various vehicle functions, including vehicle settings, connectivity, navigation, and the infotainment system.

Jantania added that alongside the unveiling of the J6T CSH, the company has opened a pre-booking program for customers who wish to be among the first to own the vehicle.

Visitors can also experience the J6T CSH firsthand through test drive sessions available throughout GIIAS 2026. More information about the vehicle and the booking process is available on Chery Indonesia’s official website.
