JAKARTA, Jakartaweekly.com — Indonesian fashion brand EXECUTIVE has teamed up with IKAT Indonesia by Didiet Maulana for a new collection that brings traditional textile influences into contemporary everyday clothing.
Called “Lines of Continuum,” the collaboration explores how elements of Indonesian weaving traditions can be translated into clothing that fits the pace of modern life, combining a polished look with comfort and practicality.
The collection marks the first collaboration between the two brands. EXECUTIVE, known for its everyday fashion offerings, joins forces with IKAT Indonesia, a fashion house founded by designer Didiet Maulana that has long drawn inspiration from Indonesia’s textile heritage and worked with local artisans.
Rather than treating traditional textiles solely as formal or occasion-based fashion, the new collection takes inspiration from ikat weaving and interprets it through contemporary silhouettes. The pieces are designed to work across different settings, from the office to more casual weekend activities.
For Didiet Maulana, the idea behind the collection is closely tied to the nature of ikat itself.
“For me, Lines of Continuum is about how tradition can continue to move and evolve,” said Didiet Maulana, Founder and Creative Director of IKAT Indonesia by Didiet Maulana. “The inspiration from ikat textiles has always carried a story of connection. Each thread has its own character, but together they form a whole.”
He added that the collaboration was intended to bring that idea into modern wardrobes through pieces that are comfortable, versatile and contemporary, while retaining a sense of Indonesian cultural identity.
The collection also reflects EXECUTIVE’s broader effort to position itself as a modern lifestyle brand while maintaining a connection to Indonesian culture and craftsmanship.
“Indonesia people want to wear clothing that carries stories and values without sacrificing comfort. Together with IKAT Indonesia by Didiet Maulana, we are bringing that tradition into a collection that can be worn every day,” said Infany Suryadji, Head of Creative and Marketing at Delamibrands.
