Fi Asia Indonesia 2026 Returns on a Larger Scale as Food Industry Demand Evolves

JAKARTA, Jakartaweekly.com — Food Ingredients Asia (Fi) Asia Indonesia 2026 is set to return to Jakarta from September 16–18 at JIExpo Kemayoran, bringing together food and beverage industry players, ingredient suppliers, researchers, technology providers, and other stakeholders under the theme “Elevating Food Standards for a Healthier, Greener Future.” The event will return on a larger scale, expanding from seven halls in 2024 to 11 halls this year, while featuring more than 10 international country pavilions, including new participants from Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, and the European Union.

The expanded event comes as Indonesia’s food and beverage industry continues to demonstrate strong growth. According to Ministry of Finance data, the sector grew 6.51% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2026, driven in part by changing lifestyles and consumer preferences, including increasing demand for healthier food and beverage products.

The growth presents significant opportunities for businesses across the food and beverage supply chain, while also increasing demand for innovative raw materials, formulations, technologies, and solutions that can respond to changing market needs.

Against this backdrop, Fi Asia Indonesia 2026 is positioned as a platform for industry stakeholders to discover new innovations, strengthen business networks, and explore opportunities for collaboration.

Chairman of the Indonesian Food and Beverage Association (GAPMMI), Adhi S. Lukman, said continued industry growth requires businesses to remain adaptive, particularly in securing raw materials, exploring alternative sources, accessing innovation, and building broader networks.

“Growth in the food and beverage industry needs to be supported by the ability of business players to continuously adapt to evolving needs,” Adhi said.

He added that platforms connecting industry players, innovators, and other stakeholders are increasingly important to support a more adaptive and competitive food and beverage sector.

Fi Asia Indonesia 2026 will feature several dedicated areas designed to help visitors explore emerging opportunities. These include the Natural Ingredients Pavilion, which will showcase natural and organic ingredient sources; the Beverage Ingredients Pavilion, focusing on ingredients supporting beverage innovation; and the New Business Pavilion, which will provide a space for industry players to discover solutions, exchange insights, and develop new partnerships.

Research and technology will also be central to the event. Dr. Puspo Edi Giriwono, Director of the South East Asia Food and Agriculture Science & Technology (SEAFAST) Center at LRI PGKH IPB University, said science- and research-driven innovation will be critical to supporting the industry’s long-term development.

Research in ingredients development, he said, can help businesses explore alternative sources, improve resource efficiency, strengthen competitiveness, and develop formulations that meet evolving quality, safety, and nutritional standards.

“Collaboration among researchers, industry, and other stakeholders is essential to accelerate innovation,” Puspo said.

Fi Asia Indonesia 2026 will also feature the Innovation Zone, Innovation Tour, Sensory Box, Beverage Hub, Halal Coaching Service, and Academic to Commercial Showcase. These features are designed to give visitors greater insight into emerging technologies, product trends, ingredient applications, and opportunities to bring research into commercial applications.

Rose Chitanuwat, Regional Portfolio Director – ASEAN at Informa Markets, said the food and beverage industry is evolving beyond the need for innovative raw materials, with businesses also required to understand new technologies, trends, and increasingly diverse consumer expectations.

“Fi Asia Indonesia 2026 presents a range of special features designed to provide a broader perspective on industry developments while offering a more relevant experience for visitors,” she said.

Meanwhile, Niko N. Songko, B2B Sales Manager at PT Santos Premium Krimer, said participation in the event provides companies with opportunities to introduce innovations, gain insights from other industry players, and explore potential applications for their products and solutions.

With its expanded exhibition footprint, broader international participation, and focus on innovation and collaboration, Fi Asia Indonesia 2026 is expected to provide a valuable meeting point for stakeholders across Indonesia’s food and beverage ecosystem, while supporting the industry’s continued development and opening new opportunities for business and innovation.
