JAKARTA, JakartaWeekly.com — PT Kereta Api Logistik (KAI Logistik) transported and distributed approximately 122,000 motorcycles through its KALOG Express service from January to September 2026. The total shipment volume reached approximately 17,800 tonnes, an increase from the same period last year.
Ferdian Pardosi, VP of Commercial at KAI Logistik, said the number of motorcycles distributed increased by approximately 17% year-on-year (YoY), from 104,000 units to 122,000 units. Meanwhile, shipment volume rose by approximately 19%, from 15,000 tonnes to 17,800 tonnes.
“This growth is a positive indicator for the KALOG Express service. We are seeing growing public confidence in motorcycle delivery services, along with opportunities to expand the use of rail-based logistics to meet intercity distribution needs,” Ferdian said.
In the third quarter of 2026, KAI Logistik distributed approximately 51,800 motorcycles through KALOG Express. This accounted for 42% of total shipments from January to September 2026, representing an increase of approximately 16,000 units compared with the previous quarter.
“The increase in the third quarter reflects relatively strong demand for motorcycle delivery services. The holiday season and increased public mobility, including activities related to education, also contributed to the need for intercity vehicle shipments,” Ferdian explained.
According to KALOG Express shipment data, the five prominent cities serving as motorcycle shipment origins or destinations were Yogyakarta, Malang, Semarang, Surabaya, and Jakarta.
Ferdian said KALOG Express continues to work on providing delivery services that meet public needs by prioritizing ease of use, operational reliability, and distribution coverage.
“We understand that motorcycles are an important mode of transportation for the public. Delivery services therefore require proper handling procedures and well-planned distribution coordination to ensure that vehicles are shipped in accordance with customers’ needs. Going forward, we will continue to strengthen KALOG Express to make the service more accessible and better suited to the public’s delivery needs,” Ferdian said.
