JAKARTA, Jakartaweekly.com – The Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026 is set to become the automotive exhibition with the largest number of participating brands outside China, according to the organizer.
More than 65 automotive brands from various segments have confirmed their participation in the event, which will be held from July 30 to August 9, 2026, at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City, Tangerang Regency.
Marking its 33rd edition, GIIAS 2026 is expected to be the largest in the event’s history. In addition to featuring the highest number of exhibitors to date, this year’s exhibition will showcase a broader automotive ecosystem, bringing together passenger vehicle manufacturers, commercial vehicle brands, motorcycle makers, coachbuilders, and more than 150 supporting automotive industry brands.
GAIKINDO Chairman Putu Juli Ardika said the strong participation from global automotive brands reflects growing confidence in Indonesia’s automotive industry.
“GIIAS 2026 features more brands than ever before, making it not only a larger international automotive exhibition but also a clear indicator of the industry’s confidence in Indonesia’s automotive potential. Going forward, GAIKINDO wants to demonstrate to global industry players that Indonesia is not merely a market, but also a strategic base for the future automotive industry,” Putu said in Jakarta recently.
He added that the increasing number of participating manufacturers would provide visitors with a more comprehensive overview of the latest automotive technologies and innovations, while helping to drive the continued growth of Indonesia’s automotive sector.
Optimism surrounding GIIAS 2026 is also supported by the industry’s strong performance. According to GAIKINDO data, Indonesia’s domestic vehicle sales reached 436,564 units during the January–May 2026 period, up 15.8% year-on-year from 318,344 units in the same period of 2025.
Meanwhile, completely built-up (CBU) vehicle exports totaled 251,705 units through June 2026, representing a 7.7% year-on-year increase. Automotive component exports posted even stronger growth, surging 112.9% to 25.72 million pieces, while domestic four-wheel vehicle production rose by around 14% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2026.
GAIKINDO Exhibition Chairman Anton Kumontoy said GIIAS 2026 will mark the largest and most comprehensive edition of the exhibition since it was first held.
“This year’s GIIAS will be our biggest and most comprehensive edition yet, with 10 brands making their debut across the passenger vehicle, commercial vehicle, motorcycle, and coachbuilder segments,” Anton said.
A total of 43 passenger vehicle brands are set to participate, alongside seven commercial vehicle brands, 13 motorcycle brands, and five Indonesian coachbuilders. The exhibition will also feature more than 150 supporting industry brands, including tire manufacturers, lubricant producers, automotive audio companies, window film suppliers, and accessory makers.
Anton added that nearly all participating manufacturers are expected to use GIIAS 2026 as the stage to launch new vehicles. In addition to production models, several concept cars and the latest automotive technologies are also scheduled to make their public debut.
Ahead of the exhibition, GAIKINDO is offering a 25% presale discount on admission tickets through the Auto360 application and website starting July 13, 2026. Following the exhibition in BSD City, the GIIAS The Series 2026 roadshow will continue in Surabaya, Bandung, Semarang, and Makassar, before expanding to Bali in January 2027.
