JAKARTA, Jakartaweekly.com—The GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026 will offer visitors the opportunity to test more than 200 vehicles during the exhibition at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City, Tangerang, from July 30 to August 9, 2026. A total of 180 passenger vehicles from 38 brands and 20 motorcycles from 11 brands will be available in the event’s dedicated test drive and test ride areas.
The program remains one of GIIAS’ biggest attractions each year, allowing visitors not only to explore the latest vehicle lineups on display but also to experience their performance, comfort, and advanced technologies firsthand before making a purchase decision.
The test drive area will be located at the loading dock spanning Halls 1 to 10 and feature a track measuring more than two kilometers. Designed to replicate everyday driving conditions, the circuit enables visitors to evaluate vehicle performance in a more realistic setting.
One of the returning highlights this year is the Water Obstacle, a specially designed section with standing water that allows participants to assess how vehicles—particularly electric vehicles (EVs)—perform under challenging road conditions.
Meanwhile, the test ride area in Hall 11 will feature a wide range of motorcycles, from electric scooters to sport bikes. All participants will be provided with safety gear supplied by the organizers.
Anton Kumonty, Chairman of the GAIKINDO Exhibition and Conference Organizing Committee, said the organizers continue to improve the event’s facilities to provide a safer and more comfortable experience for visitors.
“We continue to enhance the quality of GIIAS every year to ensure visitor comfort and satisfaction, including by providing test drive and test ride areas that are safer, more comfortable, and more representative,” Anton said in Jakarta on Thursday, July 23, 2026.
He added that the test drive and test ride programs allow prospective buyers to experience the latest safety features, electrification technologies, and cabin comfort of newly launched vehicles.
According to Anton, the firsthand driving experience is expected to help visitors make more informed and confident purchasing decisions.
Visitors wishing to participate in the test drive and test ride sessions can purchase admission tickets online through Auto360 for Rp50,000 on weekdays (Monday–Friday) and Rp100,000 on weekends (Saturday–Sunday).
On-site tickets will also be available for Rp75,000 on weekdays and Rp125,000 on weekends.
Following its run at BSD City, the GIIAS The Series 2026 will continue in Surabaya, Bandung, Semarang, and Makassar. GAIKINDO has also scheduled the inaugural GIIAS Bali for January 27–31, 2027, making Bali the newest city in the country’s premier automotive exhibition series.
