Indonesia’s First 10-City Auto Show: GAIKINDO Auto Week 2026

JAKARTA, Jakartaweekly.com—Indonesia’s automotive industry is set to take a different approach to year-end auto shows in 2026. The Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (GAIKINDO), in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry, will hold the Permata Bank GAIKINDO Auto Week (GAW) 2026 simultaneously in 10 cities across the country.

The event, which organizers describe as Indonesia’s first automotive exhibition to be held simultaneously in 10 cities, will take place from November 20 to 29, 2026. In addition to Jakarta, the exhibition will be held in Bali, Balikpapan, Bandung, Makassar, Medan, Palembang, Semarang, Solo, and Surabaya.

GAIKINDO Chairman Putu Juli Ardika said the concept is designed to broaden public access to automotive exhibitions and year-end vehicle offers.

“Permata Bank GAIKINDO Auto Week 2026, held simultaneously in 10 cities, is an effort to create an automotive exhibition platform that directly connects consumers with the automotive industry through various special offers and conveniences during the exhibition. This is expected to generate significant sales and contribute to national automotive industry sales,” Putu said in an official statement on Tuesday (September 22, 2026).

Bringing the Auto Show to Shopping Malls

Unlike conventional automotive exhibitions that are typically concentrated in a single venue, GAW 2026 will bring the exhibition closer to consumers in different regions.

Jakarta will be the only city to host the event at a dedicated exhibition venue, ICE BSD City, with the exhibition running for a longer period from November 20 to 29, 2026.

The other nine cities will host the event from November 25 to 29, 2026, with exhibitions taking place at shopping malls in central locations.

In Bali, the exhibition will be held at the Main Atrium of Living World Denpasar. Balikpapan will host the event at the Atrium of e-Walk Mall Balikpapan Superblock, while Bandung will hold the exhibition at the Cibadak Atrium of Summarecon Mall Bandung.

GAW Makassar will take place at the Main Atrium of Trans Studio Mall Makassar, while Medan will host the event at the Main Atrium of Sun Plaza Medan. In Palembang, the exhibition will be held at the Atrium of Palembang Icon Mall.

Semarang will host GAW at the Downtown Atrium of 23 Mall Semarang. The Solo edition will take place at The Park Mall Solo Baru, while Surabaya will host the event at the Fashion Atrium of Pakuwon Mall Surabaya.

Anton Kumonty, Daily Chairman and Chairman of GAIKINDO’s Exhibition and Conference Committee, said the concept is intended to reach consumers in cities that have previously had limited access to GAIKINDO automotive exhibitions.

“We designed the simultaneous 10-city exhibition to reach consumers in various cities who have not previously had the opportunity to attend GAIKINDO automotive exhibitions. It is essentially a mini version of the Permata Bank GAIKINDO Auto Week, while still ensuring that visitors receive the convenience and comfort offered at other GAIKINDO automotive exhibitions,” Anton said.

More Than a Car Display, Visitors Can Test Drive

GAW 2026 will not simply showcase various vehicle models. Visitors will also have the opportunity to take vehicles for a test drive directly at the exhibition venues.

The test-drive facility will allow prospective buyers to experience the vehicles’ performance and try out various features, including safety and comfort technologies, before deciding whether to make a purchase.

The exhibition will also feature a range of automotive brands and the latest vehicle models, along with special offers available throughout the event.

Permata Bank is returning as the main sponsor of GAW 2026. The bank will offer various vehicle financing programs for visitors looking to purchase or upgrade their vehicles.

Eddie Sajoga, Director of Consumer & Branch Banking at Permata Bank, said the bank will offer several programs through its Permata Kredit Kendaraan Bermotor (KKB) product, including an Instant Approval facility.

The simultaneous 10-city exhibition is expected to provide a year-end boost for Indonesia’s automotive industry while expanding access to automotive exhibitions for consumers across the country.
