Jakarta’s pet community is experiencing a massive surge in enthusiasm. This booming interest was clear at the recent Jakarta International Pet Show (JIPS) 2026, which successfully drew 24,387 visitors and 120 exhibitors. Held from July 3 to 5 at Hall 8, NICE PIK 2, the three-day event became a massive hub for pet enthusiasts to gather, shop for their furry friends, and connect with fellow animal lovers.

A Shift Toward Education and Community

Adhika Arthapaty, Project Director of JIPS 2026, sees this high turnout as a strong indicator of Indonesia’s rapidly expanding pet ecosystem.

“We observed that visitors came with increasingly diverse goals,” Adhika explained. “They weren’t just looking for products, but also seeking education on pet care, consulting with experts, and connecting with communities that share the same interests”.

He noted that this shift proves the local pet ecosystem is becoming more dynamic, with massive room for future growth. To meet these evolving needs, the exhibition offered a packed schedule of educational and interactive experiences.

Visitors enjoyed a variety of activities, including:

  • Engaging talk shows and animal presentations.
  • Meet-and-greet sessions with “JIPStars”.
  • Unique activities like “Yoga with Pet” and animal parades.
  • Dedicated educational spaces such as a Vet Clinic, an Animal Education Zone featuring deHakims, Jagat Satwa Nusantara (JSN), Animalium, and the Museum of Cats & Exotic Animal by Radhiyan Pet and Care.

Celebrity Appearances and Thrilling Competitions

The event’s main stage featured prominent pet enthusiasts and animal lovers, such as Irfan Hakim, Fardhan Khan, Bobby Sant, Audrey, Alshad Ahmad, and the Dream Team, who shared their inspirations with the audience. Furthermore, JIPS 2026 showcased over 200 different species, breeds, and categories of animals. Exhibited pets ranged from dogs, cats, and rabbits to birds, sugar gliders, and reptiles, brought together by various local communities.

Competitions were another major highlight, attracting more than 650 participants across multiple events. The competitive lineup included:

  • Fun Dog Agility and Ninja Dog Warrior.
  • Varanus Agility Race.
  • Rabbit Competition and Cat Warriors Vol. 7.
  • Morphvolution and Fancy Pigeon (Merpati Hias) Competition.

The Ninja Dog Warrior obstacle course was particularly thrilling, drawing celebrity attendees like Ryan and Sharena Delon, as well as Zoe Levana, who cheered on their dogs, Floki and Dolce, as they tackled the challenges. These competitions served not only as a space for hobbyists to shine but also as a way to introduce the public to the characteristics of different pets.

Looking Ahead to 2027

Daswar Marpaung, President Director of Dyandra Promosindo, expressed that the overwhelming public response will drive the organizers to create even better experiences.

“The positive feedback we received shows that the public needs a space that provides not only products and services but also quality education, community, and experiences,” Daswar stated. He promised that next year’s event will feature even more interactive programs and collaborations to foster a healthy, responsible pet ecosystem in Indonesia.

The success of JIPS 2026 was made possible through strong collaborations with various stakeholders, including BNI as the Official Bank Partner, along with numerous exhibitors, pet communities, and media partners.

For those who missed out, the next installment is already in the works. JIPS will return to NICE PIK 2 from July 2 to 4, 2027.
