JAKARTA, Jakartaweekly.com—Xiaomi Indonesia has expanded its Mini LED TV lineup by introducing a 55-inch model priced at Rp8,999,000. The new model is the smallest in the company’s Mini LED TV portfolio, which previously consisted of 65-inch, 75-inch, 85-inch, and 98-inch variants.

Xiaomi Indonesia PR Manager Abee Hakiem said the pricing strategy reflects the company’s Innovation for Everyone mission, which aims to make advanced technology more accessible without compromising the user experience.

“What we offer is technology—including TVs—that allows more people to enjoy the highest level of technology. That’s why we bring Xiaomi products with what we call honest pricing. The value is in line with what we offer,” he said in Jakarta on Thursday, August 6, 2026.

Hakiem said demand for high-quality visual entertainment continues to grow. However, televisions equipped with QLED technology are generally sold at significantly higher prices.

To address this, Xiaomi introduced Mini LED technology to enable more consumers to enjoy premium picture quality at a more affordable price point. According to him, Mini LED technology also delivers a more immersive viewing experience.

“At the same time, we maintain the value so that it remains accessible to everyone. That’s why most of our flagship TVs now use Mini LED technology,” he said.

Hakiem added that the company remains optimistic about Indonesia’s television market. He said the large number of people who continue to watch television is one of the key reasons Xiaomi keeps expanding its TV product lineup in the country.

“We looked at Statistics Indonesia’s (BPS) 2025 data, which shows that 70% of people aged five and above watch television every day, or at least six to seven days a week. That’s why we continue to introduce TV products that are highly relevant to the needs of Indonesian consumers,” he said.

According to Hakiem, television-based entertainment consumption also continues to evolve, supported by the growing number of content platforms, ranging from over-the-top (OTT) services and social media to increasingly high-resolution content.

“We see that Indonesians consume not only entertainment. Sometimes televisions are also used for aesthetic purposes or even as art installations. That’s why we believe the demand for TVs is becoming increasingly diverse,” he said.

He also noted that demand for larger-screen televisions continues to rise. Nevertheless, Hakiem acknowledged that 32-inch TVs still have a sizable market.

“At Xiaomi, we’re introducing more TV size options to better match the needs of consumers,” he said.
