JAKARTA, Jakartaweekly.com—Art Jakarta 2026 will feature 75 galleries at its upcoming edition, scheduled for October 2-4, 2026, at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta. Of the total, 19 galleries will be participating in the event for the first time.
The participation of the new galleries is part of this year’s Art Jakarta, which once again brings together Indonesia’s art scene with art networks from across Asia.
More than half of the 75 participating galleries are domestic, while 33 are from overseas. International participants include galleries from Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Hong Kong, China, Vietnam, Malaysia and Cambodia.
Artistic Director of Art Jakarta Enin Supriyanto said Art Jakarta has developed into one of the most dynamic art fairs in Southeast Asia and currently serves not only as an exhibition space.
The event, he added, also provides a space for stakeholders in the art scene to meet, exchange information and knowledge, build networks and collaborate.
“At the same time, Art Jakarta also needs to remain a space where art stakeholders in the region can meet, exchange information and knowledge, build networks and collaborate,” he said.
The composition of this year’s participants also shows that Art Jakarta’s scope extends beyond galleries. Art Jakarta 2026 will feature several programs providing space for artist collectives, collaborative projects, cultural institutions and art communities.
One of them is SCENE, which will feature 39 participants from various cities across Indonesia this year. The program brings together artist collectives and collaborative projects that reflect the diversity of collective practices within Indonesia’s art ecosystem.
Art Jakarta will also present SPOT, which allows galleries to showcase works beyond the conventional booth format, including works with more diverse spatial approaches and scales.
Meanwhile, AJX provides a space for Art Jakarta to collaborate with various cultural institutions and organizations. In its second year, Korea Focus, for example, will feature 14 galleries from South Korea.
Art Jakarta 2026 is part of the Art Jakarta series, which starting this year will be held three times a year: Art Jakarta Papers, Art Jakarta Gardens and Art Jakarta International Art Fair.
“We hope that if we can continue to carry out these roles and functions well, the art market ecosystem in Indonesia and the region will also remain dynamic and continue to grow,” Enin said.
Art Jakarta 2026 will take place on October 2-4, 2026, at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta. Tickets went on sale on September 17, 2026, through the official Art Jakarta website.
