JAKARTA, JakartaWeekly.com—Grand Sahid Jaya Jakarta will feature Indonesian band Maliq & D’Essentials at Midnight Soul Garden, a New Year’s Eve celebration scheduled for December 31, 2026, at the hotel’s Puri Agung Convention Center.
Under the theme When the Night Comes Alive, the event will combine live music, culinary experiences, and entertainment to welcome 2027.
Maliq & D’Essentials will perform some of their popular songs, along with new material from their upcoming album. The band, known for its distinctive blend of jazz, soul, and pop, will be one of the main attractions at the New Year’s Eve celebration at the hotel, located in Jakarta’s Sudirman district.
Grand Sahid Jaya Jakarta General Manager Herman Courbois said the event was designed to bring together music, culinary offerings, and hospitality in an experience for guests.
“For us, New Year’s Eve is not just about marking the passage of time, but also about creating meaningful moments with the people closest to us. Through Midnight Soul Garden, we want to offer a celebration that brings music, culinary experiences, and hospitality together in one memorable experience,” Herman said in Jakarta on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2026.
Maliq & D’Essentials vocalist Angga Puradiredja said performing on New Year’s Eve would give the band an opportunity to share its energy and musicality with the audience.
“Performing on New Year’s Eve always has a special atmosphere. We’re happy to be part of a moment when people gather, enjoy music, and celebrate a new beginning,” Angga said.
Fellow Maliq & D’Essentials vocalist Indah, whose full name is Rivani Indriya Suwendi, expressed hope that the band’s performance would become part of the audience’s cherished memories as they welcomed the new year.
“Music has its own way of bringing people together and creating memories. We hope everyone who attends can enjoy the evening, sing along, and celebrate the turn of the year with happiness,” Indah said.
Alongside the live music, Grand Sahid Jaya Jakarta will offer a range of dining experiences at four of its outlets: Andrawina, Bengawan Solo, Golden Dragon, and Solo Cigar Lounge.
