JIU Celebrates Graduation 2026, Emphasizes Character and Global Readiness

CIKARANG, Jakartaweekly.com — Jakarta International University (JIU) celebrated the graduation of 33 students on Friday, Aug. 7, 2026, at Manna Hall, K-Eduplex, Deltamas, under the theme “Beyond the Runway, Grounded in Faith, Called to Soar.”

The graduates, representing the English Literature, Japanese Literature, Accounting, and Information Technology programs, were encouraged to pursue excellence while remaining grounded in truth, integrity, and a commitment to serving society.

During the commencement ceremony, university leaders emphasized that graduation is not the finish line but the beginning of a new journey. Echoing the event’s theme, graduates were challenged to become individuals who make a meaningful impact in their professions and communities by combining academic excellence with strong moral character and values.

The ceremony also recognized outstanding students through the presentation of the LIFE (Love, Integrity, Faithfulness, Excellence) Award and the Contribution Award, honouring those who demonstrated exemplary character and service throughout their studies.

The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests from business and international communities, including Jong Hun Kim, Chairman of the Korean Association Indonesia; Myonghyon Cho, President Director of Shinhan Bank Indonesia; Chris Cho, CEO of Inheritance Enterprises; as well as representatives from companies and organizations that have partnered with JIU in academic and internship programs. Their presence reflected the university’s growing collaboration with industry and its commitment to preparing graduates who are ready to contribute in an increasingly global workforce.

As an international university, JIU provides students with a multicultural learning environment through its international faculty, diverse student body, and partnerships with institutions abroad. Students also benefit from international student exchange opportunities and a character development program, where living together in the university dormitory fosters leadership, discipline, cross-cultural understanding, and personal growth alongside academic development.

This year’s graduating class also demonstrated the effectiveness of JIU’s industry-oriented education. Through internship experiences integrated into the curriculum and close collaboration with industry partners, many graduates had already secured employment before receiving their degrees. As the Class of 2026 embarks on the next chapter of their lives, they leave JIU equipped not only with professional knowledge and practical experience but also with the character, global perspective, and purpose to make a positive impact wherever they are called to serve.
