JAKARTA, Jakartaweekly.com – Oscars 2027 date has officially been announced, as the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and ABC confirmed the schedule for the upcoming ceremonies over the next two years. The Academy said the 99th Oscars will be held on Sunday, March 14, 2027, while the 100th Oscars is scheduled for Sunday, March 5, 2028.
In its latest announcement, both ceremonies will air live at 7 p.m. ET on ABC and will be broadcast in more than 200 territories worldwide. The events will once again take place at the Dolby Theatre, located within Ovation Hollywood.
Academy said, the Oscars 2027 date is set for March 14, 2027, marking the 99th Academy Awards ceremony. The announcement provides clarity for industry players and audiences awaiting the official awards season timeline.
Meanwhile, The Academy also released key dates for the 2026 awards season, which will determine eligibility for the 2027 Oscars, following the announcement of the Oscars 2027 date.
The eligibility period begins on January 1, 2026, and runs through December 31, 2026. The final submission deadline for general entry categories, including Best Picture and Animated Feature Film, is set for November 12, 2026.
The awards timeline will begin with preliminary voting from December 7 to December 11, 2026, followed by the announcement of shortlists on December 15, 2026.
Nominations voting is scheduled to take place from January 11 to January 15, 2027, with the official nominations announcement set for January 21, 2027. Nominees will gather for the annual Nominees Luncheon on February 16, 2027.
Final voting will run from February 25 to March 4, 2027, ahead of the main ceremony tied to the Oscars 2027 date on March 14.
The announcement also marks the lead-up to a historic milestone, as the 100th Oscars in 2028 is expected to celebrate a century of the Academy Awards. The confirmation of the Oscars 2027 date is seen as a key reference point for the global film industry.
