JAKARTA, Jakartaweekly.com — PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (PELNI) has partnered with PT Agrito Roman Bali (Plaga Farm) to supply fresh food provisions for domestic and international vessels operating in and calling at Indonesian ports.

PELNI Corporate Secretary Ditto Pappilanda said the partnership is part of the company’s efforts to expand its shipping agency services beyond vessel operations to include the provision of supporting logistics.

Under the collaboration, PELNI will supply fresh provisions—including fruits, vegetables, and meat products—as part of its integrated shipping agency services.

“As Indonesia’s national shipping company, PELNI continues to develop integrated shipping agency services that are tailored to meet customers’ needs,” Ditto said on Monday, June 29, 2026.

He added that the partnership will help ensure vessels served by PELNI receive high-quality fresh food supplies while also creating broader opportunities for locally grown agricultural products to enter the maritime supply chain.

According to Ditto, PELNI’s nationwide agency network and fleet are expected to provide local farmers with wider market access, including opportunities to supply international vessels operating in Indonesian waters.

Beyond fresh food procurement, the cooperation also covers port operations optimization, strengthening the maritime food supply chain, improving the quality of onboard logistics, and increasing the absorption of locally produced agricultural commodities.

“We expect this partnership to deliver broader benefits, not only by enhancing the quality of PELNI’s shipping agency services but also by supporting local economic empowerment,” he said.

“Our goal is to build a mutually reinforcing ecosystem between the shipping and agricultural sectors, creating sustainable value for all stakeholders,” he added.
