JAKARTA, Jakartaweekly.com — PT Datascrip has launched a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, “Daur Sampah Jadi Bermakna,” aimed at reducing plastic waste while supporting education for children from underprivileged families.
Through the program, the public is encouraged to collect used plastic printer ink bottles, which will later be recycled into foldable study desks to be distributed to families in need.
Business Unit Director of PT Datascrip Monica Aryasetiawan said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability and community empowerment.
“This is a tangible demonstration of our concern for environmental preservation while also serving as a step toward bringing hope to children from underprivileged families,” she said in an official statement on Thursday, May 7, 2026.
To support public participation, the company has established several collection points for used ink bottles across major cities in Indonesia. In Jakarta, collection points are available at the Datascrip showroom in Kemayoran, the Datascrip Service Center in Mangga Dua, and Agres Mangga Dua.
Additional collection points are also available in Tangerang, Bogor, Bekasi, Bandung, Semarang, Surabaya, Bali, Medan, Padang, Palembang, Balikpapan, Makassar, and Manado through the company’s Datascrip Service Center network and retail partners.
The collected plastic ink bottles will be processed using recycling technology by ATMI Recycle Studio into foldable study desks that can be used as learning facilities.
The recycled desks will be distributed gradually through the network of Lembaga Daya Dharma Keuskupan Agung Jakarta to ensure the assistance reaches families in need.
She added that the program is also part of the company’s efforts to extend the product life cycle while creating more sustainable social and environmental impacts in Indonesia.
