MGS5 EV Up to Rp14 Million Cheaper in Bandung Than in Jakarta

JAKARTA, Jakartaweekly.com – Morris Garages (MG) Motor Indonesia has officially launched its latest product, the MGS5 EV, in Bandung, West Java. The electric vehicle is offered at a lower price compared to its on-the-road (OTR) price in Jakarta.

According to a press release received by Jakartaweekly.com, the MGS5 EV Ignite variant is priced at Rp343,900,000 and the Magnify variant at Rp365,900,000 for the Bandung area. Meanwhile, the OTR Jakarta prices are Rp357.9 million for the Ignite and Rp374.9 million for the Magnify.

MG Motor Indonesia Chief Executive Officer, Jason Huang, said the pricing is expected to expand access to electric vehicles for consumers in Bandung.

“We see Bandung as one of the cities with significant potential for electric vehicle adoption, as the trend continues to show positive growth,” he said in an official statement on Friday, May 1, 2026.

He added that the company aims to provide daily mobility solutions that are relevant, easy to use, and supportive of a more sustainable modern family lifestyle through the presence of the MGS5 EV in the SUV segment.

According to him, Bandung has a high level of urban dynamism and strong potential for the development of electric vehicles in Indonesia. This is reflected in the rapid growth of EV adoption in West Java. Based on data from Gaikindo, between 2022 and 2024, the number of electric vehicles increased more than tenfold, with Bandung being one of the growth centers.

The MGS5 EV is designed as a family-oriented electric SUV that carries the philosophy “Because Everyone Matters,” combining comfort, ease of use, and a comprehensive driving experience.

The vehicle features a spacious cabin, comprehensive safety systems, and efficient, consistent performance to support daily activities as well as long-distance travel.

This approach is reflected in a design that considers the needs of every family member. For drivers, the MGS5 EV offers stable and responsive handling through its rear-wheel drive (RWD) configuration and 5-link suspension.

In terms of safety and convenience, the vehicle is equipped with integrated Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), providing confidence and ease of operation.
