HELLA Launches Premium Ceramic Brake Pads, Covering 80% of Cars in Indonesia

TANGERANG, Jakartaweekly.com – HELLA has expanded its braking system product portfolio in Indonesia with the launch of Premium Ceramic brake pads for various Asian passenger vehicles. The aftermarket product was introduced at Automechanika Jakarta on September 26, 2026.

Andrew Heng, Head of Product Management and Asia Pacific Regional Marketing, said the launch of the Premium Ceramic brake pads marks the initial stage of HELLA’s efforts to expand its braking product portfolio in the Indonesian market.

“This launch marks the initial stage of HELLA’s efforts to continuously expand its braking product portfolio in the Indonesian market. We plan to introduce additional product categories for vehicles while further strengthening HELLA’s overall braking solutions lineup,” Andrew said.

HELLA offers more than 200 part numbers for the Premium Ceramic brake pads. The range is designed for various popular Asian passenger vehicle models and is claimed to cover more than 80% of the passenger vehicle population in Indonesia.

The Premium Ceramic brake pads are developed for everyday driving, offering quieter braking, reduced dust, and a smooth and comfortable braking feel.

In addition to introducing the product, HELLA gave visitors to Automechanika Jakarta an opportunity to experience the performance of the Premium Ceramic brake pads firsthand through the HELLA Slalom and Brake Challenge.

Held on September 26, the activity allowed visitors to test the product through a hands-on driving experience. HELLA also provided free brake pad installation services at the venue throughout the event.

At its Automechanika Jakarta booth, HELLA also showcased a range of other aftermarket products, including Smarttech 2.0 Frameless Wiper Blades, horns, LED products, batteries, fuel pumps, and filters.

The Premium Ceramic brake pads are now available through HELLA’s official distributor in Indonesia, PT Sarana Berkat.

The launch is part of HELLA’s efforts to expand its aftermarket product portfolio in Indonesia, particularly in the braking system category for Asian passenger vehicles.

Meanwhile, PT Sarana Berkat Director Vincent Lo said the company has priced the brake pads at Rp300,000-Rp400,000. Consumers in Indonesia can purchase the product through several sales channels, including online platforms, he said.

At that price range, the company is targeting all market segments in Indonesia, from ride-hailing drivers to private car owners, Vincent said.

He also claimed that the brake pads can last for up to 60,000 kilometers, which he attributed to the compound used in the brake pads.
