JAKARTA — ANTAM Presents The 14th Annual Jakarta Marketing Week 2026 (JAKMW 2026) brought an international flair to the capital with a special session titled “Go Mongolia: Tourism, Trade, and Investment” on Thursday, May 7, at the Grand Atrium Kota Kasablanka. The session aimed to strengthen global collaboration and celebrate the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Mongolia.
Aligning with the event’s core spirit, “Jakarta, The Global City: Inclusive, Creative, and Collaborative,” the forum highlighted the rich potential for tourism, trade, investment, and cultural exchange between the two nations. Hermawan Kartajaya, Founder and Chair of MCorp, emphasized Mongolia’s strong and unique positioning as a global cultural and tourism destination. “I am very interested in the ‘Go Mongolia’ concept; it is a smart positioning,” he remarked, noting how culture and authentic experiences serve as the primary strengths in a country’s destination marketing.
A significant domestic push for this bilateral relationship was shared by Setyono Djuandi Darmono, CEO & Founder of PT Jababeka Tbk, who discussed his company’s involvement in promoting Mongolia. Darmono announced a $1 million USD investment to build a Mongolian Cultural Center in Tanjung Lesung, Banten. “There, the public can see traditional Mongolian tents, learn archery, and enjoy live cultural performances directly from Mongolians,” he stated. This development aims to boost international tourism in the South Banten region while introducing authentic Mongolian heritage to Indonesians.
The diplomatic significance of the event was further underscored by leaders from both nations. Irene, the Deputy Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the PRC and Mongolia, emphasized that the 70-year milestone is crucial for deepening friendships amidst a shifting global landscape. She highlighted potential future collaborations in education, tourism, culture, economic resilience, and global supply chains.
Meanwhile, H.E. Enkhtaivan Dashnyam, Ambassador of Mongolia to Indonesia, noted that despite geographical distances, the two countries possess complementary cooperation potential. Emphasizing the importance of national branding and deep-rooted people-to-people connections, he stated, “Mongolia is not just a destination to visit; it is a place to experience freedom, silence, and connection with nature”.
Beyond business and diplomacy discussions, attendees were treated to Traditional Mongolian Dance performances and video highlights showcasing the country’s stunning natural landscapes and unique experiences. The Jakarta Marketing Week 2026 festival runs from May 6 to 10, 2026, at Kota Kasablanka, bringing together industry players, government officials, communities, and creative youth through various conferences, workshops, and exhibitions.
